First step is to gather your ingredients that you need for these Cheeseburger Stuffed Mushrooms. The base of this recipe is the Portobello mushrooms, which are known for their hearty texture. Often enough you will find Portobello mushrooms as the burger patty replacement in vegetarian burger dishes because of the meaty like properties, which is why this dish works so well!
Instructions for Cheeseburger Stuffed Mushrooms
The filling is made from a savory mixture of bread crumbs, pickles, tomatoes, cheese, and spices that give them a delicious umami flavor.
Preheat your air fryer to 370°F. Clean the mushroom caps, then remove the stems and discard. First mix together bread crumbs, and spices in a medium bowl. Then add shredded mozzarella cheese and chopped American cheese.
Next, add chopped pickles, tomatoes and avocado oil. Stir the filling together until mixed. Place the stuffed mushrooms on air fryer trays or in the basket, spaced apart so they are not touching. Spray the stuffed mushrooms with cooking spray and cook for 8 minutes or until golden brown and tender.
Prepare the burger sauce
Meanwhile, prepare your burger sauce. This can be made ahead and put into the refrigerator to rest for an hour or more before enjoying. The longer it sits the more the flavors will meld together. In a medium container with lid, or bowl, combine burger sauce ingredients. Mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, diced pickles, paprika, salt and pepper.

- 1 tbsp Pickles minced
- 1 tbsp Papkrika
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
