Enjoy a Valentine’s Day heart wreath that you can make in 10 minutes. This super easy DIY decor craft is perfect for February 14th. Affordable and easy to make, this project will light up any space with a touch of love.
Gather your materials and let’s get crafting.
Materials
- Pine garland
- Wreath frame (only if your garland needs support – see note below*)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Foam hearts
- Metal Valentine’s Day truck decor
- Pink wired ribbon
- Pink pipe cleaners
- Red heart lights (1 strand fit my 12” wreath)
*If your garland is soft and doesn’t have support, you will need to get a wire wreath frame and attach the garland to it with floral wire or pink pipe cleaners.
The best part about this project other than how easy and quick it is to make, the cost. All the v-day accessories can be found at the Dollar Tree. Since I already had half the materials, this cost me about $4 to make.
Instructions for Valentine’s Day heart wreath
First, form a round shape with your garland which is the base of the wreath. If your garland does not have support you’ll need a wreath frame. See my note above.
Once your wreath is formed, stretch out the heart lights. If your wreath is on the larger side you may need more than one strand of lights. My wreath is small because I’m using it on my chicken coop, so one strand fits my 12” wreath perfectly. Secure the battery pack against the back of the wreath so we can hide it.
Next, remove the handle from the metal truck. Flip the truck over so you can see the back. Hot glue a pipe cleaner to each side (the front and rear of the truck). Let dry completely then attach to the wreath form.
Take your foam hearts, if yours are on a stick like pictured, cut the heart off the stick. Then, take those foam hearts and glue around the outside of the wreath. I used four, again as my wreath is on the smaller side, I didn’t want to overcrowd it.
Lastly, make a bow and put that cutie on. I used the bow to cover up the battery pack for the lights. Mine was positioned at the bottom of the wreath but feel free to put that wherever it looks good.
Then you can enjoy it because you are finished! This super easy Valentine’s Day wreath is an inexpensive DIY project that will warm your heart and holiday décor. I absolutely love this wreath, the more I look at it, the more I just smile and fall in love with it even more.
Where to get wreath materials
There are a few places you can find materials you need to create this wreath. The Dollar Tree specifically has the heart lights, foam hearts, and metal Valentine’s Day truck used in this project. Additionally, you can find décor pieces at a craft or hobby store and at your local Wal-Mart or Target.
