Join me on an enchanting and creative adventure as we dive into the world of magical potions! This craft project is perfect for igniting the imagination and providing a fun, hands-on experience. Whether you’re planning a themed party, looking for a unique craft project, or simply want to add a touch of magic to your day, creating your own magical potions is the perfect concoction.
I am a gamer at heart and ever since I was young I played a game called Diablo 2. In the game are these full rejuvenation potions that we can use to refill our health. The bottle is rounded and the potion is purple. I love it, so I decided to recreate it with cute bottles from the dollar store, which is where the inspiration for this craft comes from.
Magical potions supply List
- Clear bottles
- Water + glass for mixing
- Luster Dust
- Spoon
- Funnel
- Sticker paper
Gather all your necessary supplies and we can start brewing up our magical potions.
- Clear jars and bottles – These will hold your magical potions. You can use any size or shape, but make sure they’re clear so you can see the beautiful colors of your potions.
- Water and a glass for mixing – We’ll be mixing our potions in a glass before transferring them to their final jars or bottles.
- Spoon – This will be used for stirring the potions.
- Funnel – This will make it easier to transfer the potions from the mixing glass to their final containers without spilling.
- Sticker Paper – If adding labels to your potions, you’ll need sticker paper. You could print an already made design or write the name of each potion, its ingredients, and even a little description or story about its magical properties.
- Luster dust – This will give your potions a magical, shimmering appearance. Make sure it’s edible if you plan on consuming your potions.
Creating your magical potions
Add the luster dust to a glass of water and stir until it’s fully dissolved. The more luster dust you add the darker, more saturated and shimmering the potion will be.
Next, use the funnel to transfer your potion from the mixing glass to the jar or bottle you are using. You need to mix the luster dust and water mixture up really well before transferring it. The luster dust does not stay mixed all the time, it will separate and settle to the bottom.
Be sure to dry off the bottle or jar if any of the potion spilled before adding the labels if you decide to use them.
Other creative decorating ideas
You can create a calming blue potion, a fiery red potion, a mysterious purple potion, or any other color you can imagine. These magical potions can be used as party favors, decorations, or even as a fun craft project to do with kids. But remember, the most important ingredient in any magical potion is your imagination. So let it run wild and have fun!
