Today I’m sharing with you an inexpensive and easy DIY artificial flower organizational display. It keeps my fake flowers safely stored and it looks super cute.
I never realized how much supplies and materials I use, especially for wreath making. I keep collecting. Currently part of my craft room looks like the floral department at a craft store. If you can relate, you’ll definitely want to see this quick tutorial. It works great for flowers, stems, picks, and well, more flowers.
Easy DIY artificial flower organizational display
Unquestionably I needed a solution to help clean up the space. Something to keep the flowers color coordinated. In addition to looking clean and organized, because OCD is seriously a thing for me.
I inspected the displays at the craft stores. Searched through Pinterest. There’s a lot of great ideas but nothing that would work for my space. My craft space is quite small. Almost every organizational option is geared towards larger rooms which I don’t have at the moment.
A small shallow wired basket works great for picks and stems. A deeper basket would allow long single stemmed flowers to fit nicely through the wire holes. The larger bouquet flowers just rest in the basket.
Here’s how to make a simple and easy DIY artificial flower organizational display.
Materials You Need
- Artificial flowers
- Plywood for the backing – or wood of your choosing, I chose the cheapest wood option I could find (size 4′ x 12″).
- 3 Screws
- 3 wired baskets (I bought mine at Dollar Tree)
- Drill and drill bit
This display is super easy and cheap to make. & the best part, it definitely holds a lot of fake flowers!
I purchased a large piece of plywood and cut a long piece off it for this project. 4 feet long by 12 inches wide.
First, use a drill to drill the screws into the plywood leaving a 1/4″ gap from the head of the screw to the board. This is where the baskets hang. Evenly space the baskets down the board.
Next, hand the baskets on the screws.
Lastly, organize your flowers into each basket. You could choose to sort them by color or style, which ever you prefer.
That is it. Hah! See how simple that way. I love the impact this display makes. It’s a unique but affective way to tidy up your space and keep your fake flowers easily accessible and organized. It’s almost an art piece in itself.
