This Game Day football banner is an excellent way to add excitement to your game day festivities. When it comes to hosting a game day football party, big or small, every detail counts, including the decorations. Whether you’re a hardcore football fan or just enjoy crafting, this DIY project is sure to add a fun touch to your game day get together.
This year even though we’re keeping it chill at home, it was obvious that I wanted to make some decorations for the big day. Gotta go big somewhere…the Super Bowl is in Vegas afterall.
Banners and garland decorations are a fantastic way to add a touch of creativity and charm to any event or space. Paper craft banners are a versatile and budget-friendly option that can be customized to suit any theme or color scheme. In this case, a football vibe.

Gather your materials, turn on your Cricut cutting machine and let’s get crafting.
Instructions for game day football banner
First, open my Game Day Football Garland Banner Project in Cricut Design Space. Click “Customize” to alter the project if needed before cutting. Select “Make It” and follow the design space instructions to complete the cutting process.
This project gives you 5 flags of each kind (50 yard line, football, referee), more if you make more copies when cutting. I made two copies of the project which gave me 10 flags of each kind. Then I turned those into three banners consisting of 12 flags, 3 of each type and one small banner with 3 flags, one of each kind.
I have two banners near the food table and one hanging on the entertainment center with the tv we are watching the game on. The small banner I am attaching to the bottom of the pool noodle goal post that I made.
Time to assemble
When all the components are cut, let’s assemble. Glue each kind of banner flag, the green 50 yard line, the brown football, and the black stripes to a white flag. You will have enough white triangle pieces to fit with each of the themed triangles.
Next, when all banner flags are dry, use your embroidery floss or string to hang your banner. Thread each flag on, following a pattern and repeating until you make your banner the length you want. Tie a loop in each end to make hanging a breeze.
Lastly, display this badass banner wherever and enjoy! I love the way this turned out. It’s easy to make, the machine does most of the work, and in a short time, you have a creative and unique decor piece for game day!
Now show it off proudly and get ready to kick off a great Super Bowl with this game day football banner.
