This Batty Night scene consists of a bare tree, an eerie fence and flying bats under moonlight. With a few pieces of paper and some other materials you can create this simple but cute night scene in less than 30 minutes. Not only is this project creative it is all fun. Plus, it makes a wonderful decorative piece for your home or workspace.

- Cardstock, White
- Cardstock, Dark Blue or Patterned Scrapbook Paper
- Light grip mat 12 in x12 in
- Craft Glue Dots

- Glue stick or other adhesive
- Shadowbox frame – 8 in x 8 in (optional)
This project uses cardstock paper and craft glue dots to create a batty night scene. I also added a textured look to the background by using a piece of ombre scrapbook paper. I think it gives it more depth than plain dark blue cardstock paper.

Let’s get cutting
Select customize if you would like to alter the project but you can skip and just select to make it if no customizing is needed.
When ready, select make. Next, follow the design space instructions to complete the cutting process.
Once your cardstock paper is cut, remove the paper from your mat. I suggest bending and rolling the mat away from the paper, not pulling the paper off the mat, so you don’t tear the paper.
Assemble the Batty Night paper craft
Now let’s assemble using a glue stick or other adhesive and glue dots. The glue dots are for the moon and the fence but you can add them to any portion of this project or omit them altogether. I love using glue dots, I really enjoy the look and dimension it adds to simple paper art.
For the bats, to add movement in the piece I folded the wings up off the paper in order to give it the 3D effect. I think it really makes the bats stand out.
Lastly, enjoy your spooky batty night scene with or without a frame.
